Connected Car Services

Connected car services allow for the gathering of data and in some cases sending remote commands to a vehicle. These services can be referred to differently by manufactures such as Blue Link from Hyundai or mbrace from Mercedes. Despite every manufacturer having a different name for their connected service, they all provide similar functionality. Newer vehicles are offering standard remote convenience features some being available even at the lower end models.^[1]

Manufacturers offer these services generally as a subscription model that you pay for annually. This technology primarily uses 3G/4G data connections to allow for the vehicle to communicate with mobile devices, smart assistants, or websites from anywhere in the world.
