James McGovern was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 15 of the Connecticut House of Representatives.
McGovern was born in Hartford, Connecticut and raised in Bloomfield.[1]
Professionally, McGovern has worked in information technology for over thirty years. At the time of his candidacy, McGovern was working as the chief architect for Hewlett Packard. He also served in the United States Coast Guard.[2]

Elections for the Connecticut House of Representatives consisted of a primary election on August 12, 2014, and a general election on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 10, 2014. Incumbent David A. Baram was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while James McGovern was unopposed in the Republican primary. Baram defeated McGovern in the general election.[4][5]
