The Washington Vehicle Excise Taxes Bill, also known as Referendum 49, was on the November 3, 1998 ballot in Washington as a legislatively referred state statute, where it was approved. The measure reduced vehicle excise taxes and authorized $1.9 billion in bonds for state and local highways.[1]
