The Brookings Institution is a think tank in Washington, DC, one of the most frequently cited and perceived as centrist in its overall output. Its research is intended to:

Strengthen American democracy;
Foster the economic and social welfare, security and opportunity of all Americans and
Secure a more open, safe, prosperous and cooperative international system

It has been described as the most frequently cited think tank. ^[1], and closest to the ideological center of similar organizations. ^[2]

Foreign Policy; it is more policy and less military/intelligence than some other grouss
Global Economy and Development
Governance Studies
Metropolitan Policy Program

President of the Institution is Strobe Talbott.
