George Clinton (born in Kannapolis, North Carolina) is a seminal figure of American Funk music. He has been making music since the 1970s with Parliament, Funkadelic, P-Funk, and George Clinton and the P-Funk All-Stars.

His popular songs include Atomic Dog, Up for the Down Stroke, We Want the Funk, Give Up the Funk, Knee Deep (In the Funk), Doctor Funkenstein, and P-Funk (Wants To Get Funked Up).
