Chhapi is a small village of 476 hectares in Dungarpur Tehsil in Dungarpur district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Chhapi depends on Dungarpur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 36.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Chhapi is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Chhapi's pin code is 314801[4], and village code is 03297600. The area of Chhapi is segregated as 80 hectares irrigated area, 238 hectares unirrigated, the 66 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 92 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Chhapi has One post office (Chhapi B.O) and Four public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Chhapi has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Chhapi is a census village in the district of Dungarpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2880 and has total administration over 594 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Chhapi has 481 children, 251 boys and 230 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 13 (0.45%) males constitute 4 (0.14%) of the population and females 9 (0.31%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 1428 (49.58%) males constitute 692 (24.03%) of the population and females 736 (25.56%).

The workforce is 767 male, 808 female with 1030 (65.4%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 558 males and 472 females. 410 males and 391 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 29 male and 46 female agricultural labor. 545 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Dungarpur to sell earthen pots and make their living.
