Jonal is a small village of 396 hectares in Kotkasim Tehsil in Alwar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Jonal depends on KHAIRTHAL, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Jonal is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Jonal's pin code is 301401[4], and village code is 00793400. The area of Jonal is segregated as 305 hectares irrigated area, 67.7 hectares unirrigated, the 11.2 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 12 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Jonal has One post office (Jonal B.O). Jonal has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Jonal is a census village in the district of Alwar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1470 and has total administration over 266 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Jonal has 209 children, 126 boys and 83 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 264 (17.96%) males constitute 148 (10.07%) of the population and females 116 (7.89%).

The workforce is 404 male, 386 female with 671 (84.94%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 366 males and 305 females. 229 males and 200 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 73 male and 58 female agricultural labor. 119 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of KHAIRTHAL and Alwar to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
