Lamba is a small village of 3682 hectares in Masuda Tehsil in Ajmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Lamba depends on Kishangarh, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 8.75% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Lamba is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Lamba's pin code is 305630[4], and village code is 02497000. The area of Lamba is segregated as 126 hectares irrigated area, 1565.65 hectares unirrigated, the 595.35 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 727 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Lamba has One post office (Lamba Kund Ka B.O) and Fifteen public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Lamba has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Lamba is a census village in the district of Ajmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 4907 and has total administration over 798 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Lamba has 778 children, 403 boys and 375 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 1390 (28.33%) males constitute 703 (14.33%) of the population and females 687 (14.0%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 7 (0.14%) males constitute 3 (0.06%) of the population and females 4 (0.08%).

According to a census 2011 report, 2827 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1495 male, 1332 female with 1889 (66.82%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1098 males and 791 females. 564 males and 362 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 173 male and 276 female agricultural labor. 938 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Kishangarh and Ajmer to sell earthen pot and make their living.
