Lungisa Terrence Ndabeni (born March 9, 1973) affectionately known as Sir Ndabs by his radio fans, is a South African singer, songwriter, former radio host at Link FM (Christian Radio Station), Pastor, Marriage Officer and Pre-marital counselor.[1] Lungisa is best known for gospel music and is regarded as one of the genre's most prolific artists. He has set himself apart by singing original gospel music written by himself only.
Lungisa has gained much popularity in the country since the release of his debut EP Now is the Time in 1998. He is also a radio host at Izwilethemba FM. Apart from having a successful career in the entertainment industry, Lungisa is a family man and a committed religious leader.
Lungisa’s music is available on his website as well as on all the music streaming platforms such as Amazon, Apple Music , Deeezer, Discogs, Spotify, and Youtube . On September 16, 2019 he also released a Play Store app called Lungisa Ndabeni.
Lungisa was born on March 9, 1973 to Philemon “Dambile” Dywili-Ndabeni and Momfazi Mirriam Magagu. He is the first born in a family of six children. Initially, Lungisa studied at Kwelera Primary School and then went to Jongilanga High School. It was during his schooling at Jongilanga High that he became a born-again Christian, on the 25th of January 1992. The conversion happened while visiting his parents in Duncan Village. Lungisa completed his high school education at Kusile Comprehensive High School, Duncan Village. He had organised for the school to have the Student Christian Organisation (SCO) and became its first chairperson.
Lungisa later enrolled at Rhodes University and completed his Bachelor of Primary Education (B.PrimEd. At Rhodes, he also became the chairman of SCO (Student Christian Organisation). Later, he completed a Ministerial Diploma at West Coast Bible Seminary and then also registered at South African Theological Seminary (a fully online Bible Seminary).
Lungisa wrote his first song in 1987. He released his debut EP in 1998 - Now is the Time, which became highly acclaimed among the people and was often featured on the radio up until 2007. Since then, he has released several singles and two full-length albums, which are available on all major music streaming platforms.[2]
In 2007, Lungisa signed a digital distribution deal with CD Baby, In 2008, he had entered his album Testimony into the SAMAs (South African Music Awards) and also invited to attend the SAMAs Nominees Launch of 2008 at Fourways Mall in Johannesburg.
He was a presenter of Izwilethemba FM from 2009 to 2017 then he bought his own program slot from 06 October 2019 until now from the same station. It is called “UThixo Usenabo Abakhe Benceba”(God is merciful to his people) that runs every Sunday morning from 9am to 10am.
Lungisa is associated with several organizations including the Brother Lungisa Music Productions, CD Baby, Selborne Primary School, and the New Covenant Community Teaching Church.
Lungisa’s music aims at praising God and revolves around the idea of uplifting the human race with the grace of God. He specializes in the sub-genres of gospel music and has notably contributed to creating a versatile music production environment. He is a charismatic musician who focuses on promoting religious values through his music and his artistry platform on social media. Lungisa’s music focuses on making people accept their mistakes and spreading the values of the Holy Bible.

Lungisa is married to Dolly Ndabeni and they have four children together named Ruth, Olwam, Lungisa Junior and Lungisani.
