Shane Farnsworth is the superintendent of the Alpine School District. Farnsworth is was appointed superintendent in October 2020, and assumed office on July 1, 2021. Farnsworth's career experience includes working as a classroom teacher, principal, and district administrator in secondary schools.[1]
The Alpine School District Board of Education consists of seven members elected to four-year terms. Members are elected by-district .[3]

Members of the Alpine School District Board of Education are elected to four-year terms. Elections are held in November.
A primary election was scheduled for June 13, 2020. A general election was scheduled for November 3, 2020.
The Alpine School District Board of Education maintains the following policy on public testimony during board meetings:[4]
“ | PUBLIC COMMENTS TO THE BOARD
During the regular board meeting, a public comment portion will be limited to 30 minutes. Individual participants will have a maximum of 3 minutes. In-person comments will be limited to the first ten individuals who sign up. Once the maximum of 10 participants is reached, individuals may still participate by providing written comments. The sign-up form for in-person comments will be available starting one hour prior to the regular board meeting in the district office foyer. WRITTEN PUBLIC COMMENT – Individuals may submit written public comments electronically by completing this FORM by 6:00 PM on the day of the meeting. All comments will be reviewed by the Board and made available within the meeting minutes. Public input is important to Alpine School District and assists in ascertaining public attitudes and interests. Finally, this is not a forum for open discussion or debate between the Board and patrons. A member of the district staff will respond to patrons who request a follow-up.[5] |
