An effort in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, to recall Councilmen John Brazee, Mark Buchnan, Rodger Milleson, and Roger Taylor was initiated in July 2019. Petitioners submitted enough signatures to put the recalls on the ballot. The recall election was held on October 8, 2019.^[1] All four officials retained their positions.^[2]

Recall supporters[edit]

The recall effort was organized in response to the firing of Police Chief Nick Silva on June 28, 2019. Silva was later reinstated as police chief. The two officials responsible for firing Silva, Interim City Manager Larry Eulert and Assistant City Manager Rex Wikel, resigned shortly after Silva was fired.^[3]

Path to the ballot[edit]

Recall organizers needed to submit 108 valid signatures to put the recall on the ballot. On July 15, 2019, petitioners submitted 138 signatures. City Clerk Barbara Smith found 108 signatures valid.^[3]
