Amendment 1: Nashville Mayor Required to Submit Department Performance and Debt Information Approveda

A yes vote was a vote in favor of requiring the mayor to submit the following information to the metro council each year:
  • performance and efficiency metrics for departments and agencies that receive city funding,
  • total city debt and comparisons to previous years,
  • debt per capita;
  • a summary of unissued but already authorized debt.
A no vote was a vote against requiring the mayor to submit information about city debt and the performance and efficiency of city-funded departments and agencies, thereby retaining the existing budget reporting requirements.

Amendment 2: Nashville Board of Education Vacancy Process Approveda

A yes vote was a vote in favor of amending the charter to say that metro education board vacancies are filled by the city legislative body rather than by remaining education board members, thereby making the charter compatible with state law.
A no vote was a vote against amending the charter concerning metro education board vacancies, thereby leaving the charter language incompatible with state law.
