Evan James originally filed to run for the District B seat, but withdrew from the race before the primary election. Linda Young also won re-election to her seat in the primary election by defeating Antonio Bowen, Russell Davis, Adam Johnson, Walter Jones III, and Mark Melton and garnering more than 50 percent of the vote for the District C seat.
