Eric White is the Zone 3 representative on the Bentonville School District school board in Arkansas. White won the seat in the by-district general election on September 20, 2016.

Two of the seven seats on the Bentonville School District school board were up for general election on September 20, 2016. In Zone 3, challenger Eric White defeated incumbent Grant Lightle and former board member Beth Haney. Joe Quinn was the sole candidate to file in the Zone 7 race. The election was canceled due to lack of opposition and Quinn was automatically re-elected.[1]

The Bentonville School District is located in Benton County in northwest Arkansas. The county seat is Bentonville. Benton County was home to an estimated 249,672 residents between 2010 and 2015, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.[2] The district was the fifth-largest school district in the state in the 2013–2014 school year and served 15,081 students.[3]

Benton County outperformed Arkansas as a whole in terms of median household income, higher education, and poverty rate. The median household income in the county was $56,325, compared to $41,264 statewide. Of Benton County residents aged 25 years and older, 29.6 percent had attained a bachelor's degree, compared to 20.6 percent for Arkansas as a whole. The county poverty rate was 11.9 percent, compared to 18.9 percent for the entire state.[2]
