As with the senate, Republicans made minor gains in the election giving them a larger majority.

Only 30 incumbents faced competition in the July 20 primary. One incumbent - Democrat Don Wix - lost in the July 20 primary, while three incumbents - Republicans Daniel Stout and Cecily Hill and Democrat Toney Collins - came in first in the July 20 primary, but lost in the August 10 runoff.
