The county government of Ada County is located in Boise, Idaho. The county was established in 1864. It covers a total of 1,054.99 square miles in southwest Idaho.[1]

Ada County, Idaho, held general elections for commissioner seats 1 and 2, sheriff, and prosecutor on November 3, 2020. A primary was scheduled for May 19, 2020. The filing deadline for this election was March 13, 2020. Ada County also held a general election for highway districts 1, 2, and 5, a general election for three college district seats, and a general retention election for 14 magistrate judges on November 3, 2020. The filing deadline for these elections was August 5, 2020.
