Gregory Divinity was born in Utica, Mississippi. He served in the U.S. Army from 1985 to 2015. Divinity earned an associate degree from Hinds Community College, a bachelor’s degree from Belhaven University, and a master’s degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.[1]

|Gregory is a husband, father, grandfather and proud life long resident of District 66. He is a graduate of Utica High School, Belhaven University, and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Gregory is the Senior Administrator of New Vineyard Ministries that consist of social services to the community such as schools, feeding programs, mental health programs, home ownership programs an array of other programs. Gregory is also a retired combat veteran who has spent his career serving his country as a military police officer, personnel officer, finance officer and an a plethora of other positions. Gregory is also a retired federal investigator and former probation parole officer as well.
Gregory Divinity, Sr. is committed to addressing the challenges facing our community. As a leader in our community, Gregory has worked to improve the community by establishing a preschool, afterschool, tutorial program and at- risk neighborhood programs.
From his educational background, military and federal law enforcement career he will bring strong discipline and leadership skills along with a fresh perspective to the legislature.
