John McNally (Pennsylvania)

John McNally was a 2012 Republican candidate for District 15 of the Pennsylvania State Senate.
McNally earned his B.S. and J.D. from Penn State University. He is a partner at Thomas, Thomas and Hafer, LLP. McNally also serves as a Committeeman for Precinct 11 of Lower Paxton Township. He has served as a board member for the March of Dimes and the Humane Society of Harrisburg. He is a member of the Saint Thomas More Society and the NRA. He is married to his wife, Ginger. They have three children.[1]
PoliticsPA has named the District 15 primary one of Pennsylvania's top ten most interesting legislative primaries in 2012.[2]

On his 2012 campaign website, McNally outlines his campaign themes and policy goals:
- Creating Jobs: "As our state senator, John will fight to lower taxes on our small businesses. One of the most onerous taxes is the Corporate Net Income Tax currently at 9.9%. Not only is the rate too high for companies already in Pennsylvania, it dissuades companies from locating here. To be frank, it makes PA less competitive and it must be lowered..."
- Getting our Fiscal House in Order: "Pennsylvania state government has to have a budget that lives within its means. For too long, the solution in Harrisburg has been to increase spending and raise taxes...John believes it is time to right-size state government. That is why he will fight to cut wasteful spending and prioritize where our state tax dollars go. Every decision John makes will be with the taxpayer in mind."
- Protecting Conservative Values: "John believes that we need to have a Senator committed to protecting our conservative South Central Pennsylvania values. John will be a strong advocate to preserve our 2nd Amendment rights. John will also fight to protect the rights of the unborn, our children and our seniors."
- Producing Pennsylvania Energy: "With the Marcellus Shale deposits and our other natural resources, we are rich in energy potential. John believes we need to pass a common sense Marcellus plan that protects our environment and promotes the jobs and investment the industry brings."

McNally ran in the 2012 election for Pennsylvania Senate District 15. McNally defeated William Seeds and Josh First in the Republican primary on April 24 and was defeated by the Democratic primary winner, Rob Teplitz, in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012. Incumbent Republican Jeffrey Piccola did not seek re-election. [3][4]
