Karen Mendoza was a candidate for District 1 representative on the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District school board in Texas. Mendoza was defeated in the by-district general election on May 6, 2017.
Four of the seven seats on the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District school board were up for by-district general election on May 6, 2017. District 1 incumbent Kathryn Kaminski filed for re-election and defeated challenger Karen Mendoza. In District 2, incumbent Kay Danziger was unopposed in her bid for re-election. The District 3 incumbent did not file for another term, leaving the seat open to newcomers. Two filed for the spot on the board: James Beebe and Mandi Bronsell. Bronsell won election to the seat. In District 6, incumbent Anna Gonzales was defeated by challenger Joe Hubenak.[1][2]
