A Pocatello, Idaho native, Nye graduated from Pocatello High School. He earned his B.S. from Harvard College and his J.D. from the University of Idaho College of Law.[1]

Elections for the Idaho House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 20, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 14, 2014. Mark Nye was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Matthew Bloxham was unopposed in the Republican primary. Nye defeated Bloxham and Matthew Larsen (L) in the general election.[8][9][10][11]
