This measure sought to add to the current property tax by a rate of $.10 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to help pay for a new fire truck for the city fire department.[2]

Text of measure[edit]

The question on the ballot:

An additional tax for the benefit of the City of Martins Ferry for the purpose of purchasing a new fire truck at a rate not exceeding one (1) mill for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to ten cents ($0.10) for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for five (5) years, commencing in 2011, first due in calendar year 2012.[3]
