Timothy Hanson is the superintendent of the Metropolitan School District of Warren Township. Hanson was appointed superintendent in June 2018. Hanson's previous career experience includes working as a principal, middle school math teacher, and coach.[1]
The Metropolitan School District of Warren Township school board consists of seven members elected to four-year terms. Board members are elected at large.[2]

Board members are elected on a staggered basis in November of even-numbered years.
A general election was scheduled for November 3, 2020.
The Metropolitan School District of Warren Township school board maintains the following policy on public testimony during board meetings:[2]

0167.3 - PUBLIC PARTICIPATION AT BOARD MEETINGS The Board recognizes the value of public comment on educational issues and the importance of allowing members of the public to express themselves on Corporation matters. Any person or group wishing to place an item on the agenda shall register their intent with the Superintendent and the Board President no later than seven (7) days prior to the meeting and include:
Such requests shall be placed on the agenda only if approved by the Superintendent and the Board President. To permit fair and orderly public expression, the Board may provide a period for public participation at every regular meeting of the Board and publish procedures to govern such participation in Board meetings. The presiding officer of each Board meeting at which public participation is permitted shall administer the procedures of the Board for its conduct. The presiding officer shall be guided by the following rules:
There are two (2) portions of the meetings during which the participation of the public is invited--at the beginning of the meeting for items to be addressed that are not on the agenda and during the Action Items portion of the agenda. Tape or video recordings are permitted. The person operating the recorder should contact the Superintendent prior to the Board meeting to review possible placement of the equipment, and agrees to abide by the following conditions:
