The city of Arlington, Texas, held elections for mayor and city council on May 6, 2017. A runoff election was held on June 10, 2017. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 17, 2017.[1]

In the mayoral race, incumbent Jeff Williams defeated challenger Chris Dobson. Districts 3, 4, 5, and 8 on the city council were up for election. District 3 was the only open race, with four candidates seeking to replace incumbent Robert Rivera. Marvin Sutton and Roxanne Thalman advanced to the runoff election in District 3. Thalman defeated Sutton in the runoff by three votes. Incumbent Kathryn Wilemon defeated Teresa Rushing in District 4. Incumbent Lana Wolff defeated Dakota Loupe in the runoff election after Matthew Powers was eliminated in the general election. Incumbent Michael Glaspie defeated Ghulam Sumdani in District 8.

There were two ballot measures on the ballot. Voters were asked to vote on one bond issue and whether to adopt the State Civil Service System for the Arlington Fire Department.
