Oklahoma sees at least 77 proposed ballot measures filed in legislature

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma: During the November 2, 2010 general election, Oklahoma voters voted on a sizable 11 statewide ballot measures. State lawmakers are now focusing, in a big way, on placing statewide questions on the 2012 ballot. According to reports out of the state, at least 77 proposals have been filed in legislative session in hopes of landing on the 2012 general election ballot.

One of those proposals would mandate that legislative session only adjourn every other year in the state. The measure is being proposed by State Senator Tom Ivester. Another proposed question would allow for the sale and purchase of wine in grocery stores across the state. The measure was introduced and filed by State Senator Clark Jolley.^[1]
