An effort to recall Patrick Duncan from his position as county attorney of Franklin County, Nebraska was launched in August 2012.[1] The recall effort was abandoned in October 2012 after recall supporters failed to turn in signatures.
A recall affidavit was filed by Deborah Welton on August 14. Welton said, "I think I’m doing what dozens, if not hundreds of people in this county want done, but a lot of people don’t want to stick their necks out and do it."[1] The petition against Duncan noted discrepancies in the handling of court cases as the impetus for recall.[2] Recall organizers did not turn in signatures by the October deadline, and the recall effort came to an end.[3]
