Richard O. Wright was a circuit court judge for the Marquette County Circuit Court in Wisconsin.^[1] He joined the court in 1995 and retired at the end of his term on July 31, 2013.^[2][3]

Education[edit]

Wright received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School in 1967.^[2][4]

Career[edit]

After graduating from law school, Wright worked as a patent attorney in Milwaukee for a brief period before going to Vietnam on a project funded by the CIA. In 1968, he joined the U.S. Army for another brief period and then joined a conservative think tank in Chicago. Afterwards, Wright returned to the practice of law in Wisconsin, worked as a private practice attorney, and later as a district attorney for Marquette County from 1975 to 1982. He then served as the county's corporation counsel until his first term as judge in 1995.^[2]
