Christy Perry is the superintendent of Salem-Keizer Public Schools. Perry was appointed superintendent in 2014. Perry's previous career experience includes working as the superintendent of the Dallas School District.[1][2]
The Salem-Keizer school board consists of seven members elected by district to four-year terms.[3]

Members of the Salem-Keizer school board are elected to four-year terms. Three or four seats are up for election on a staggered basis every odd-numbered year in May.
Four seats on the board were up for general election on May 18, 2021.
The Salem-Keizer Public Schools school board maintains the following policy on public testimony during board meetings:[3]

In the interest of the Salem-Keizer community of stakeholders, the board would like to hear broad input from the community related to board decisions and effectively carry out the business of the board. The board is accepting only written comment at this time. Written public comment is provided to the board ahead of the meeting, which gives the board the ability to read, digest, and consider the public comment prior to their decisions. During the board meeting, the board will hear a summary of the comments and acknowledge that they have read and reviewed the community feedback related to the business of the board. The summary and all the submitted public comments will be posted to the SKPS website the next business day. Please submit your written public comment using the following guidelines:

The district had a yearly average of $299,480,476 in outstanding debt. The district retired $27,233,095 of its debt and issued $42,999,619 in new debt each year on average.[5]
