A Shelby School District Bond Measure was on the August 3, 2010 ballot in the Shelby school district which is in Richland County.
This measure was approved
This measure tried again to pass a bond that failed in May. The bond will be in the amount of $28 million and would be used to help with construction projects in the district. Community members had funded this election, a check was given to the county board of education to hold this special election.[2] The plan will be to move the current middle school from its location, on a flood plain, in order to avoid future flooding that could occur. Cracks and mildew plauge the school now and school officials saw this as the only way to ensure a safe environment for students. The current levy maintains the buildings but is not enough to help with new construction.[3]
