State circuit court judge steps down from Monsanto case

West Virginia: On Monday, August 29, West Virginia Supreme Court Chief Justice Margaret Workman announced that Judge Derek Swope, Ninth Judicial Circuit, will be presiding over the Bibb v. Monsanto class action lawsuit, slated to begin on September 9. Judge Swope was appointed after O. C. Spaulding stepped down from the case on Friday after announcing he was suffering from Lou Gherig's disease. Senior Judge James Holliday has been appointed to take over Spaulding's other cases.[1]
