The Texas Assessment and Collection of Taxes Amendment, also known as Proposition 3, was on the August 4, 1887 ballot in Texas as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was defeated. The measure would have authorized the legislature to provide for the assessment and collection of state and county properety taxes in unorganized counties.[1][2]
