Two new presiding judges appointed for the Mississippi Court of Appeals

Mississippi: Mississippi Court of Appeals judges Tyree Irving and Kenneth Griffis were promoted to presiding judges by Chief Judge Joseph Lee on March 3, 2011. As presiding judges, they will deal with the administrative side of the court. Judge Irving as served on the Court of Appeals since January of 1999 and presides in Madison County. Judge Griffis has served since January of 2003 in Ridgeland County. Regarding the appointment, Irving said, "I look forward to continuing the service I have provided as a judge to the citizens of the state..." Griffis stated, "I am honored to have an opportunity to serve the citizens of Mississippi and the other judges of the Court of Appeals."[1]
