From Ballotpedia - Reading time: 6 min

This page is about a former federal court. For a list of active courts, see: United States federal courts.

The United States Circuit Court for the District of Maryland was established as part of the Judiciary Act of 1789. The circuit court system was entirely rearranged by the Judiciary Act of 1801, thereby dissolving the Circuit Court for the District of Maryland. It was reinstated with the repeal of that act in 1802, after which time it continued in existence until the circuit court system was permanently dismantled, on March 3, 1911.[1]
