United States Circuit Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania

The United States Circuit Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania was established on March 3, 1837, to hear appeals from the District Court for the Western District. From the creation of this district court in 1818 until the creation of its corresponding circuit court in 1837, appeals from the District Court for the Western District were heard by the Circuit Court for the Eastern District. It was permanently dissolved, with the rest of the circuit court system, on March 3, 1911.[1]
