Alabama: Since Alabama's voters participate in partisan judicial elections, the results of the yesterday's primary election yielded a few different scenarios.
- Because they defeated the opponents in their own party, five candidates will now run unopposed in the primary election.
- As of yesterday, these candidates are running unopposed in the general election: Democrats Jeremy Taylor[1], Clyde Jones[2], Stephen Wallace[2], Gilbert P. Self[3], Jerry Selman[4], and Republican G. Daniel Reeves.[2]
- In each race, these candidates received the most votes in the primary. However, since no one received over 50% of the vote, they will complete in the runoff election on July 13, 2010.
