A moderately high performance multicore processor aimed at the high but not extreme end of the desktop workstation market, including graphics capability for multimedia and computer gaming; lower in computing power than the AMD Opteron series and AMD Quad-Core series.

Specifically to the AMD's Phenom II line, there are a few different models ranging in thermal design power from 65W to 125W, for X2 cores to X6 cores.[1]
