The Air Force Space Command is a major command of the United States Air Force, which, like other service organizations not part of Unified Combatant Commands (UCC), is responsible for doctrinal development, procurement, training and readiness of resources to be made available to the warfighting UCCs. In this case, the warfighting UCC that would employ its intercontinental ballistic missiles would be United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM). USSTRATCOM also has a global intelligence and communications responsibility that AFSPC helps support, but AFSPC would also provide units for handling satellite communications and warning, etc., to the regional UCCs. It is currently commanded by GEN C. Robert Kehler, who reports to the Chief of Staff of the Air Force. Directly reporting units[edit]
