Allegheny River

The Alleghany and the Monongahela rivers join at Pittsburgh to form the Ohio River.

The headwaters of the Allegheny River are in western New York state. It flows south to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where it joins the Monongahela River, to form the Ohio River.
