Bluetooth is an industrial standard for data transmission between devices over short distances using wireless technology (WPAN) developed in the 1990s by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) . Connectionless and connection-based transmissions from point to point and ad-hoc or piconets are possible. [1] The name Bluetooth is derived from the Danish King Harald ‘Bluetooth’ Gormsson, who united warring parts of Norway and Denmark.
