The Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) is an anti-nuclear organization that advocates unilateral nuclear disarmament. CND was formed in 1957 and since that time has periodically been at the forefront of the peace movement in the United Kingdom.

The Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament organised the first Aldermaston March in 1958, when several thousand people marched for four days from Trafalgar Square, London, to the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment close to Aldermaston in Berkshire, England, to demonstrate their opposition to nuclear weapons.[1][2] The Aldermaston marches continued into the late 1960s when tens of thousands of people took part in the four-day marches.
