Douglas Coupland (30 December 1961–) is a Canadian novelist, artist and playwright. His 1991 debut novel, Generation X: Tales for an Accelerated Culture, was hailed as capturing the zeitgeist of those reaching adulthood in the 1980s through irony and pop cultural allusion.
