Ephraim Sneh [r]: Member of Knesset (Labor), first elected to Knesset in 1992 and has served as a member of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee and has held various cabinet posts, including Minister of Health and of Transportation and Deputy Defense Minister; career officer in the Israeli Defense Forces until 1987, reaching the rank of Brigadier-General; Commander of the Medical Teams during the Entebbe Rescue Operation in 1976, Chief Medical Officer of the IDF Paratroops and Infantry Corps, Commander of the Security Zone in South Lebanon in the early 1980's and Head of Israel’s Civil Administration for the West Bank from 1985 to 1987.
