The European Medicines Agency (EMEA) is an agency of the European Union. It was known as the "European Agency for the Evaluation of Medicinal Products" until 2004.[1]

Most of its funding is from fees collected from entities submitted applications.[2]

Purpose[edit]

"European Medicines Agency (EMEA) is a decentralised body of the European Union with headquarters in London. Its main responsibility is the protection and promotion of public and animal health, through the evaluation and supervision of medicines for human and veterinary use."[3]
