International French School (Singapore) (IFS) (French: Lycée Français de Singapour, LFS) is a French international school in Singapore certified by the French Ministry of Education. Operational for over 50 years, IFS delivers a bilingual French-English education for international students aged 2 to 18, from kindergarten to high school. Its campus, located on Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3, has 54,000 square metres (580,000 sq ft) of space.[1]

Incident[edit]

Allegations of students fighting at public 2022[edit]

On 13 May 2022, a person namely Henry Ng posted a video on Facebook showing students from the International French School fighting at the HDB deck block with boxing gloves. Henry Ng also wrote that it was "not (the) first time" the student had conducted the acts in the Facebook post. The police were reportedly had approached the students in respond to the incident and found them sparring instead of fighting. In respond to the incident, the school's Communication & Events Director, Sebastien Barnard, told the Singaporean news media Mothership that IFS is investigating on the allegation.[2]

Allegations of students involvement in mischief by fire[edit]

On 17 June 2022, the Singapore Police Force issued a statement stating that the police were investigating a case of mischief and mischief by fire allegedly involving students from International French School. A person namely Henry Ng posted photos of scorched paper scattered at the void deck and revealed that his daughter saw the IFS students burning paper. Henry Ng also added that a cleaner from the town council had cleared burnt paper and litter. As a result of the incident, the Aljunied-Hougang Town Council (AHTC) later met with representatives from the IFS and the police. In response to news media queries by Channel News Asia, IFS' Communication & Events Director, Sebastien Barnard, claim that no students from International French School Singapore have been identified in relation to the allegations.[3]
