Ludwig III (7 Jan 1845, Munich, - 18 Oct 1921, Savar, Hungary) was the sixth and final King of Bavaria. He ruled as king from the death of his father, Prince Regent Luitpold in 1912, until the end of the First World War in 1918. Ludwig's descendents, although no longer royalty, are a prominent family in Bavaria and retain their noble titles, but as a part of the family name.
