The Milwaukee Brewers are a Major League Baseball team based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The team was founded as the Seattle Pilots in 1969 as an expansion team in the American League. The team played in the American League from 1969 through the 1997 seasons, and the National League from the 1998 season to the present.^[1]

Championships[edit]

The team has never had a championship-winning season. They were American League champions, but lost in the World Series, in 1982. ^[2]

Locations and Nicknames[edit]

Since the team's inception in 1969, they have been based in two different cities or metropolitan areas. They were in Seattle in 1969, and Milwaukee from 1970 to the present. They have played their home games at the following stadiums. ^{[3] [4]}

Seattle:

• 1969: Sick's Stadium

Milwaukee:

• 1970-2000: Milwaukee County Stadium
• 2001-present: American Family Field (Originally named Miller Park, renamed American Family Field in 2021)

They have been known by two different nicknames: ^[5]
