Pelops

Pelops [r]: From Greek mythology, he was the son of Tantalos who was butchered by Tantalos to serve as food for the gods. But he was brought back to life, and given a shoulder made of ivory to replace the shoulder that had been eaten by Demeter. His sons were Atreus and Thyestes, according to Elizabeth Vandiver, Classics scholar and authority on Greek mythology and Greek tragedy including the Iliad, Odyssey, Aeneid, Homer, and Virgil.
