Rishi Sunak (born 12th May 1980) was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from October 2022 to July 2024. He was the Chancellor of the Exchequer (British finance minister) from February 2020 to July 2022. At his request, the King called a general election for 4 July 2024, in which the Conservatives lost nearly two-thirds of their seats. He resigned as Prime Minister the next day, to be succeeeded by Sir Keir Starmer. He served as Leader of the Opposition until hais party chose a new leader, Kemi Badenoch. He now serves as the Conservative Party Member of Parliament for Richmond, North Yorkshire. He was born in Southampton, Hampshire and has also worked as a hedge fund manager.
