The San Diego Padres are a Major League Baseball team based in San Diego, California. The team was founded in 1969 as an expansion team in the National League. ^{[1] [2] [3]}

Championships[edit]

The team has never had a championship-winning season where they won the World Series. They were National League champions, but lost in the World Series, 2 times, in 1984 and 1998. ^[4]

• 1969-2003: Qualcomm Stadium (Originally named San Diego Stadium, renamed Jack Murphy Stadium 1981, renamed Qualcomm Stadium 1997)

They have been known as the San Diego Padres for their entire history.
