Steinberg Emerging Playwrights Award

From Citizendium - Reading time: 1 min

The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust announced the Steinberg Emerging Playwrights Award in 2008, issuing the first pair of awards in 2009.[1] Two Emerging Playwrights Awards are given each year, to "two young playwrights whose work shows promise." They each receive a cash award of $50,000.

The usual practice of giving two awards was modified, in 2021, due to the COVID-19 outbreak.[2] The trustees decided to grant ten individuals awards of $10,000 each. They were: Jeff Augustin, Clare Barron, Eboni Booth, Idris Goodwin, Ike Holter, Paola Lázaro, Haruna Lee, Mike Lew, Ife Olujobi and Jiehae Park.
