The team has had a total of 2 championship-winning seasons in the modern era (1901 and later) of major-league baseball, winning the World Series in 1992 and 1993. These are the only years they have appeared in the World Series.[2]
The team has been based in Toronto since its inception in 1977.
They have played their home games at the following stadiums: [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] Exhibition Stadium from 1977 through May 1989; and the SkyDome, which was renamed Rogers Centre starting with the 2005 season, from June 1989 to the present, with the exception of the 2020 season. Owing to the covid pandemic, the team played home games at Sahlen Field in Buffalo, New York, for the 2020 season. In 2021, the team played home games at three different ballparks: TD Stadium in Dunedin, Florida, Sahlen Field, and Rogers Centre.
